Professor Lorne Whitehead Recognised as IES Fellow

Every year, IES recognizes members for outstanding technical and service achievements in connection to the Annual Conference. This year a well-known member of our Vancouver Section will be designated as IES Fellow for valuable contribution to the science of illumination.

Professor Lorne A. Whitehead of the University of British Columbia is recognized for the advancement and discrimination of theoretical and practical knowledge in the science of illumination, especially the application of structured surface physics to applied illuminating engineering (including prism light guides and the commercialization of transport hollow light pipes), the development of display systems and applied colorimetry.

The festivity will take place in Orlando during the IES Annual Conference, October 23-25. We congratulate Lorne and wish great success in his research work and practical implementations.
