Preserving BC's Electrical Heritage
Committee Scope and Goals:
To locate, identify and file documents and publications representing important milestones in the growing stature of the BC Section, IESNA;
To display, where appropriate to members and interested parties, such archival materials;
To make recommendations for securing and placing historical materials and accounts of outstanding product and technology developments related to the art and science of illumination.
The first meeting of the newly formed BC Electrical Heritage Society was held March 30th, 1998. The new society has been formed by friends of the electrical industry who would like to see BC's electrical history preserved.
The society plans to collect and display objects, devices, tools, books and photos pertaining to the Electrical Industry in BC. Initially these will be made available for display to the general public on special occasions, open houses or temporary displays.
The society is very interested in contributions from the Lighting Industry as well. To be accepted the items should be at least 25 years old and of some historic or general interest.
